A retired US Marine colonel is calling on NATO to send logistics drones to help supply Ukrainian troops in the besieged city of Mariupol.

Several thousand soldiers and civilians are trapped inside the vast Azovstal steelworks, which is under Russian shelling.

Former US Marine Special Operations commander Colonel Andrew Milburn, who is helping to train Ukrainian forces through his organisation, the Mozart Group, says Ukrainian forces pinned down inside the steelworks will never surrender.

Colonel Milburn called his organisation the Mozart Group – a counter to Russia’s infamous mercenary firm The Wagner Group.

He set up the military training centre in Ukraine aiming to pass on his and other veterans’ frontline experience.

Colonel Milburn, who commanded US Marines during the battle of Fallujah, says the West needs to target its military aid more precisely and should offer logistics drones to help resupply the Ukrainian forces inside the steelworks.
